i really enjoy Virginia Scotchie work, his pieces have a very interesting shape; fun and naive maybe. The Color he put on is very simple. each independent shape will have their own color(some times two), so when he put it together, it from a simple but sumptuous pot. another reason i like his work is because of his style. he use a very unusual shape to build his piece. some have two connect to each other.

Hmmm, I remember her work from last year... still not a fan. Her shapes are pretty simple and possibly too abstract for me. They similarly relate dog chew toys. Also, the texture she gets from her glazes and the colors make me feel a little uncomfortable. In my opinion, texture should mainly come from the artwork itself and be supported by a glaze instead of the glaze being the extent of the texture. I'm a big fan of texture and shapes so I like to see that in other artist. Her glazes and shapes could also e taking away from her work because it looks somewhat unprofessional and less sleek and elegant as opposed to pete's work.

I enjoy her work to a certain extent technically she has a real nack for sculpture and glazing. Her forms are really unique and defiantly interesting. I really like how all the peices are individual but also have a common theme which is why they also work in her several installations. However I dont like her glazing it makes all her work seem fussy and almost like there is moss or mold on it, but it is well done. Over all I like her forms and the different textures she uses.

I'm sorry if she was on the list from last year. I thought I had her on the list two years ago. No problem..

First of all, I really love her work. I think the mix of the metallic look and the almost annoyingly bright colored glazes looks fantastic. Her pieces are very whimsical and kind of child-like, but the metal part makes it look refined to an extent. And the shapes are so unique…they're a mix of these sharp angles and bubbly curves and I love it. The only two on this page I don't like are three pieces that have a light, coral and cream-looking glaze. The pale color doesn't fit in with the rest of the pieces and it just looks bland to me. As for her artist statement…it really surprised me. It doesn't fit in with her work. She sounded very formal and eloquent, which makes it easy to understand, but I was expecting her to say something more fun, though I guess "find…intrigue" is pretty fitting, because I do find her work intriguing.
