The first thing that grabs my attention on this piece is the surface. I love how the lines from the glaze run downward from the lid to the sturdy foot. Because of this, I think the piece flows really well from top to bottom. I love how the pot is not round. On a typical tea pot, the belly of the pot is usally round, but on this one you can see definite lines making a somewhat flat surface. I think this adds a lot of creativity to the pot. To go along with the flat belly, the lid fits in really well with the theme of the pot. I would love to have this piece!

This piece stands out to me as being very solid and having a lot of strength. I think what does it for me is the handle and the spout. I wouldn't be afraid to pick this piece up by its handle. Also the great texture and shapes he brings into this piece. Kind of reminds me of my own piece, when I cut the sides of a pitcher off. The lid is absolutely incredible. The diamond shape of the lid compliments the shape of the top of the pot, which is why it works so well. Love the foot, very simple and quaint and re-empazises the shape of the body of this piece. This glaze is sexy, gives the piece an asian feel to it and introduces perpendicular lines which allows the pot to flow together. In the future I would love to make a lid like this one, with the nob especially in mind. Great work pete.

I really love how earthy all of his pieces are. Everything (the color, texture, shape) looks very natural. I also love all of his teapots, the aged look he gives them is fantastic! I get a distinctly tribal-esque feel from all of them, particularly the black and red teapot…it's looks old and the colors are almost violent but I absolutely LOVE it. It seems like he really focused on the appearance of the teapots, and those are my favorite pieces of his…I'd really like to own them myself, being a big tea drinker.
